Alan Ritchson Cast as Lead in Amazon TV Series ‘Jack Reacher’
Jack Reacher is making it's next debut thanks to Amazon Studios, Skydance TV and Paramount TV Studios. Taping Alan Ritchson as the lead role inthis series, he'll be alongside EP Child, Don Granger, Scott Sullivan and Christopher McQuarrie, with David Ellison and Dana Goldberg executive producing for Skydance.
The news breaks as Amazon just announced a similar series in which it's based off of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, which is headed to a third season. It also is based on a blockbuster book series that has grew into a massive movie franchise.
For the curious - Jack Reacher is based off of Lee Child’s international bestselling series of books. The series was an extremely successful one - being published in 49 languages and 101 territories, with more than 100 million books sold.
The story follows a U.S. Army veteran investigating suspicious activities that almost always put him in danger.
You may remember Tom Cruise playing Jack Reacher in the 2012 and 2016 adaptations. Ritchen has big shoes to fill, but we know he'll do the role justice.
Ritchen was also the star in Blue Mountain State, Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland, Hawk/Hank Hall on DC Universe’s Titans and in the upcoming season of Blood Drive and Smallville.
