Judd Apatow, film director and comedian best known for 40-Year-Old Virgin (Knocked Up, Funny People, This Is 40, and Trainwreck) has made the leap to Netflix with his production company - Apatow Productions. His next comedy, The Bubble, has just announced the cast selection of Karen Gillian, Iris Apatow, Maria Bakalova, David Duchovny, Peter Serafinowicz, Keegan-Michael Key, Leslie Mann, Fred Armisen, and Pedro Pascal. Phew!!

The Bubble is about a group of actors and actresses, during the pandemic, stuck inside a hotel attempting to complete their film. Sounds familiar - doesn't it?

Alongside Pam Brady, the paid will produce and co-write the film. Barry Mendel and Donald Sabourin are on board to executive produce. Shooting is expected to start sometime in Q1 of this year.

This announcement comes on top of the year as the streamers battle it out for best produced original-content. Netflix has historically done a fantastic job of producing hillarious original comedies with strong cast memebers. We're betting this new film will be just as strong as the last.
